HOW TO FOLD A SHIRT
Claudio Lugli dress shirts with collars look best when hung up, but when it comes time to travel, folding them is inevitable. No matter if you travel for business or pleasure, the last thing you need to deal with is wrinkled clothes upon arrival. When it comes to wrinkles, the best offence is a good defence. Here are some helpful tips from our Claudio Stylists.
Follow These Steps:
Step 1 – Button up
Fully buttoning the shirt will ensure a tight, wrinkle free fold.
Step 2 – Flatten out
Give your shirt a shake to loose any creases and lay it with the buttons facing down on a flat surface.
Step 3 – Fold the sleeve
Fold in each sleeve horizontally, so that the cuffs cross over the middle of the back and lay on back of collar. Take care not to fold in the shirt’s side seams.
Step 4 – Fold the sides of the shirt
Try to fold sides to the middle of shirt evenly from shoulder to the hems.
Step 5 – Fold in half lengthwise
Holding the bottom of the shirt with two hands, fold shirt in third lengthwise from the bottom up, and fold again so that the bottom edge of the shirt rests below the bottom of the collar. (Do this once or twice, depending on the length of the shirt and the depth of your storage space.) Flip folded shirt over and store. There you have it!
